Grade 3 Biographies

As part of Tracey Supple’s third grade curriculum, students participate in a biography genre unit. In Information Literacy class with Karin Gravina, the third graders researched one important person in history, found 5 facts, and downloaded an image of that person. Using the software program Comic Life, the students created a poster for their person. The posters were then made into a movie using Apple’s iMovie program.

Grade 5 – Endangered Species

As part of their curriculum, Melanie Meier’s 5th Grade has been studying endangered species. In Karin Gravina’s Information Literacy Class, the students used iMovie to create a movie about why their animal is endangered and what can be done to help save it. The students wrote a script, downloaded pictures and added titles and transitions to their movies. Special thanks to Jack for being a great technical assistant!

Grade 1 Bear Movie

The students in Mrs. Ellis’s Grade 1 have been learning about black bears, polar bears, panda bears and grizzly bears. In Information Literacy class with Karin Gravina, the students created pictures about their bear in KidPix, the pictures were imported into iMovie and the students recorded themselves reading the text. They are so proud that they made a movie!
