Christine Paglia Baker’s fourth grade students have been learning about the U.S. regions. Students were divided up into teams to create a presentation for a fictitious company wanting to relocate their business. Questions the students needed to address included “why your region would be a good place for this business,” “what would it be like for employees to live in the region,” and “what are some of the attractions in the region.” Each person in the group focused on one topic which was either climate, physical features and natural resources, history and migration, and attractions and culture. The students could then create a Padlet, Keynote or a Voki presentation. Once completed, the third graders visited the computer lab and viewed all the presentations giving peer feedback. Some of the comments included:
“Awesome pictures and facts. Your pictures explain the words great.”
“I really liked how you organized your facts and explained very clearly.”
“It is very convincing.”
