3D Mapping with Grade 1

The students in Alissa Alteri Shea are learning about maps. Each child was asked to create a map of their room and include details such as windows, doors, furniture and rugs. On Wednesday each student was given a shoe box and access to lots of varied and interesting items to re-create their rooms in 3D. Using the map of their room as a guide, they started to build their 3D model. It was an hour of cutting, gluing, imagining, and creating! Everyone was involved and focused on the process. Not sure who had more fun – the kids or the teachers!
