Based on the Cynthia Rylant book When I was Young in the Mountains, Angela Regan’s second grade class created their own book about when they were young. The finished books are below with a few more to be added after the winter break.

The Leaf Man by Lois Elhert was the inspiration for the kindergarten leaf people project. Amanda King’s students found leaves in the school yard to create their own leaf person. The students then selected different characteristics for their person: name, what the leaf liked to do, what the leaf smelled liked, etc. A movie was created of the students describing their person.
