The incredible art work and musical talents of our students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 were on full display last week. Under the direction of Heidi Renauld, music teacher, and Karie Neal, art teacher, the parents and school community were treated to an art show and a musical performance, It’s Elementary.

As part of their first grade unit, Alissa Alteri Shea’s students studied black bears, polar bears, panda bears and brown bears learning about their features, habitats, and eating habits. Students were divided into groups to become experts on one bear. Each student created a KidPix fact page about their particular bear which was then made into a movie. The students then presented their research to family members, guests and students. Excellent job, Grade 1!

For their book contract, Nicole Harper had her students design cereal boxes to advertise the books they had read in their independent reading. They also gathered 3 collectible charms to represent the protagonist, conflict, and theme from the book. They presented their work in the form of a promotional TV advertisement that advertised both the cereal and the book. Their completed projects are shown below.
