Imagine you are walking in the Arctic and you see a very fierce animal. The polar bear is avery strong. The Polar Bear grabs the seal in two seconds. All it had to do is put its white furry paw in the water and there is one 500 pound seal right there where that Polar Bear is eating it. Just don’t get in the middle of that and you will be fine. The Polar Bear is a very smart animal. Never try to mess with a Polar bear.

The Polar Bear is the biggest bear in the world. The male Polar Bear is 8 -10 ft tall standing up. It weighs from 550 to 1,700 pounds. The female weighs from 275 to 800 pounds. Also, a female Polar Bear is 6-8 ft tall. The Polar Bear has black skin to help it absorb the sunlight. The Polar Bear has long claws to help it grab seals and other animals. It also has webbed feet to help it swim well. The Polar Bear has big paws that are as big as a dinner plate. The Polar Bear’s big paws help it walk on snow so they do not sink into the snow or fall in. When the Polar Bear walks on the deep snow you can’t hear it walk on the snow. The Polar Bear’s fur is sort of whitish with a tint of yellow. Closely related species to the Polar Bear are a Black Bear and a Grizzly Bear.

Polar Bear cubs stay with their mother till they are about 2-3 years old. The mother Polar Bear teaches them how to hunt for food and how to get in the water to swim. The Polar Bear usually lives up to about 15-18 years old, 30 at the most. The Polar Bear usually mates in late summer or in early fall. The Polar Bear cubs are born in early January. Usually there are 2-4 cubs.

The Polar Bear hunts in a certain part of the world called the tundra. The land of the tundra is covered in ice and snow. The tundra is flat and dry. The Polar Bear also lives on the tundra. It also lives in a den in the deep snow. The Polar Bear hunts from a pack of ice on the frozen sea. It hunts seals and other kinds of animals, like fish.

The Arctic tundra covers about 20 percent of the world’s land. The Polar Bear lives on the tundra in Russia, Norway, Greenland, and Canada. There are very few Polar Bears left. There are 20,000-25,000 Polar Bears left in the whole world.

Scientists say that the Polar Bear is going to be extinct by 2050 because in the Arctic and other places, the tundra is melting. If the tundra melts, then the Polar Bears can’t hunt or get food to eat. People are shooting Polar Bears as hunting trophies. People are also killing Polar Bears for their fur to use for fur coats.

A way that people can help is by stopping of the killing Polar Bears. Another way to help save Polar Bears is for people to bring them to zoos. Some other ways are to try to stop the ice and snow from melting, and a way that we can do that is to reduce greenhouse gases so the earth doesn’t get too hot or else the Polar Bear will die.

If Polar Bears don’t have ice to hunt on they will die. I think people should stop trying to kill Polar Bears. Polar Bears are awesome animals.
