The Leaf Man by Lois Elhert was the inspiration for the kindergarten leaf people project. Amanda King’s students found leaves in the school yard to create their own leaf person. The students then selected different characteristics for their person: name, what the leaf liked to do, what the leaf smelled liked, etc. A movie was created of the students describing their person.
