Working in pairs, students in Karin Gravina’s Grade 2 technology class created a monster using KidPix, wrote a detailed description of their creation and typed it into Pages. The description was then given to another pair of students who had to re-create the monster using only the detailed description. This fun project challenges students to work collaboratively and to carefully write detailed descriptions of their monsters. Color, shape, size, and position are important details along with appropriate adjectives. Students were working on writing lab reports in Angela Regan’s classroom and this project aligned and complemented the lab report unit.
